Tech Leadership: Learning Transformed Book Study
Date: October 15, 2020 – February 28, 2021
Description: Learning Transformed is an ASCD best-seller meant to be a roadmap of support for educators who want to transform teaching and learning in their school or across their district. The book highlights eight, evidence-based “keys” needed for systemic transformation. We will read the book, answer questions and collaborate in Google Classroom, and host a series of video discussions, including a book study kickoff with author Thomas C. Murray, about the strategies that all educators can work to implement in their schools and districts, to better prepare students, starting today. 10 SCECHs are available for reading and participating in discussions. The first 40 completed book study participants will be eligible for a $25 Amazon gift card at the conclusion of the book study (reimbursement for the book).

Tech for All: Great Lakes UDL – IRN Conference
Date: October 26-28, 2020
Description: The Tech for All learning area is once again partnering with the Universal Design for Learning Implementation and Research Network (UDL-IRN) for the fourth annual UDL-IRN Great Lakes UDL Experience. Join your colleagues from around the Great Lakes region (and beyond!) to explore how Universal Design for Learning can help you create a welcoming, responsive, student-centered classroom that cultivates expert learners. The event features national presenters who will focus on UDL and designing for remote and face-to-face learning environments for all students.

Description: At the Michigan Art Education Conference, MACUL’s Tech in Education will present virtually, how art teachers can use technology to support student learning.
Tech in Education: Teaser Book study
Date: January 2021
Description: Examine practical application of technology in education by participating in this teaser book study, focusing on Chapter 5 of Learning First, Technology Second: The Educator’s Guide to Designing Authentic Lessons. The chapter focuses on lessons from K-12 educators.

Tech For All: MEMSPA Twitter Chat
Date: October 1st at 8:00 pm
Description: The Tech for All learning area has collaborated with MEMSPA, the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, to moderate the October 1st #MEMSPAchat. It is focused on synchronous learning strategies for ALL students in online instruction. Questions will be posted using the MACUL Twitter account.
Tech Leadership: District Highlight – Effective Tech PD and Support
Featuring: Jenison Public Schools
Date: October 2, 3:00 p.m.
Description: Learn how Jenison Public Schools is supporting staff through online and remote instruction. Video will include an overview of best practices, as well as lessons learned and links for additional resources.

Tech for All: AT Twitter Chat
Date: October 14, 2020
Description: The Tech for All learning area will be moderating the weekly #ATchat around synchronous and asynchronous learning strategies for assistive technology, including tools to help teachers meet the learning needs of all of their students.
