Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the world, and as an Educational Technology Consultant at Kent ISD, our EdTech Team has been working diligently to ensure educators are equipped with the knowledge and tools to use AI effectively and responsibly. Whether through professional learning opportunities, workshops, our AI Summits, or curated resources, our goal is to empower educators with practical strategies that enhance teaching and learning.
At Kent ISD, we’ve developed multiple resources to support AI integration in education. From our AI Pack & Plays (bit.ly/aipackplay), which provide ready-to-use AI lesson plans, to our AI Privacy and Safety Checks (bit.ly/aiprivacysafety), which help educators navigate ethical AI use, we are committed to providing high-quality, accessible professional learning. Additionally, our Running Doc of AI events, resources, AI-focused podcast episodes from our podcast (For the Purpose Of…), and critical mindsets (bit.ly/ai-kentisd) is continuously updated based on our work.
Recently in December 2024, I had the opportunity to sketchnote key takeaways from the Michigan Virtual’s AI Summit keynote speakers on behalf of the work that I do for MACUL with graphic design and social media. The summit focused on AI’s role in education, highlighting both opportunities and challenges. These sketchnotes showcase insights from the keynotes, including AI adoption trends, ethical concerns, classroom applications, and the future of AI in education.
